Paul Thompson

Club Runner of the Month November 2019
A great month for Paul after he set a new PB of 1.32.28 at the St Neots Half Marathon on 17th November. He took more than 5 minutes off his previous PB of 1.33.37, at the Roding Valley HM back in 2014. Paul has run well year on year at all distances from 5k to Marathon. His recent races include the Wimpole Estate Half Marathon and the cross country league fixture at Cheshunt. Vice Chairman Jonathan Wooldridge commented, 'Paul is a very consistent achiever and this month smashed a previous PB of more than 5 years - something which we take for granted, but forget we age by a year too. He trains hard every weekend, encourages others and has recently started road cycling. A founder member of Tommo's International Tours, he is a great team player encouraging others wherever he goes. A classic line from Paul often heard is 'One more, Maya' always focusing on others’ achievements over his own.'
